Marketplace
One marketplace, many sellers, every order looked after
For makers' markets, craft collectives, co-ops, community shops and gear libraries. Each member sells from their own shop and your community sells from its own, on one website. Buyers check out once, each seller is paid straight to their own account, and pickup, delivery, shipping and rentals all run through the same order page.

What you get
Everything between the first listing and the five-star review
Kommune's Marketplace module is built for places where many people sell: each seller runs their own shop, and you set the rules.
- A shop for every maker
- Members sell from their own shop, and the community sells from its shop under its own name. Each listing has photos, a description, a price, a quantity, a condition and a category, and can be for members only or on your public website. Turn on approval and new listings wait for a moderator.
- One checkout, every seller paid directly
- The cart groups items by seller. At checkout the buyer picks delivery and payment for each seller and types their card once. Kommune charges each seller separately on their own Stripe account and only takes the money once every charge has gone through. Cash and e-Transfer work too.
- Pickup, delivery or shipping
- Each seller chooses how items reach buyers: pickup at an address revealed only once the order is ready, meet-ups, local delivery with a fee and the postal codes served, or shipping with a fee per extra item, free shipping over an amount and transit times. Buyers see the dates before they pay.
- Rentals with dates and deposits
- List a tent, a table or a tool for rent with a day rate, a week rate, a deposit and a minimum number of days. Renters pick dates on a calendar that strikes out what's already booked. Check the item back in to return the deposit, or keep part of it with a reason the renter sees.
- Orders that keep both sides in the loop
- Every order has a page with what happens next, messages between buyer and seller and a timeline. Pickups use a 6-digit handover code, shipped orders carry a tracking number, and an order the seller never acts on cancels itself with a full refund.
- Reviews, reports and moderation
- Buyers rate the seller after a completed order, and the seller can post one public reply. Buyers report problems with an order, members report listings, and moderators work through one review queue: approve listings, take items down, refund or cancel.
How it works
From a few makers to a busy market
- 1
Switch on the marketplace
Turn on Marketplace in your settings, choose which delivery methods sellers may offer and whether items also appear on your public website.
- 2
Sellers set up their shops
Each maker sets how they take payment, their delivery options, sales tax and policies, then lists their items with photos. Card sales go to their own Stripe account.
- 3
Buyers shop, Kommune keeps track
Buyers browse, check out and follow their orders; sellers get each order with what to do next. Reminders, refunds and receipts take care of themselves.
